The History of Alcoholism
Alcoholism has been present since man's crushed grapes, he says. The likelihood of somebody who is an actual alcoholic just stopping and turning his life around was virtually zero in the early 1900s according to Bob Greene. About 100 years before Alcoholics Anonymous, there was a group called the Washingtonians,. And they found that if one alcohol, like somehow helped another alcoholic that they could stay sober but there was no God element in there at all.
