I would caution you against trying to start the conversation right during the middle of Thanksgiving. We all know that holidays can be a stressful time for some families and certainly if someone is at a little too much drink a holiday meal, then the conversations can go downhill. But at least having them there, that can put them in that better mood being more willing to talk about it. Can't take full credit for that one because it was a financial advisor.
