Arsenal have had three definite and one suspected ACL injuries this season. Women's football is somewhere between six to eight times more likely to experience an injury like Beth Meade's knee ligament damage. There are theories around the width of women's hips, which produces more stress on the ligaments when players jump. But there are also other theories that are growing up as well around academy football in women's football - even though elite clubs are very professionalized,. the academy structure still isn't still basically amateur.
