This was a very important philosophy at the time that the servants were out of sight, out of mind. The maids would brush grand staircases in the houses when the family were in the drawing room. They would do all of these things when they couldn't be seen or heard. This isn't where secret rooms from bookcases comes from, do you think? You know, it might be that they had secret servant entrances. That is highly possible. But you said something about the Petworth House one. Ah, yes. So I was going to give Petworth House as an example of this philosophy.
