The Reality of Software Is Not Inherently Embedded in Space

The software we want to build is so complex that the kinds of visualizations we're capable of making are just underpowered for what we want to do. So I think that this is really him being practically minded saying, in the next decade, you're not going to see people visualize large software systems. And he's kind of right about that. Just wrong about the bigger picture. Unless his argument could also be used for land and maps, which he doesn't think it can. He does specifically don't call on visual programming as a form of snake oil that people are peddling in the mid 80s that would be a silver bullet.
