The Briefing of the Soldiers

In all airborn operations, we go in for very detailed briefing of the troops. The men were told everything, not only the details of what was to be expected of them, but also the larger plan. They were allowed to discuss among themselves their tasks and how theywere gong to carry them out. This policy of briefing has the untold blessings that will always accrue when men are taken completely into the confidence of their leaders. I like the term briefing and prefer it to the more generally used term the issue of orders.
