The Benefits of Retrieval-Based Models for Question Answering
In general, I still believe that it is actually still very valuable to build this kind of to have this retrieval component. To have models that can actually retrieve text units for a couple of reasons. You're definitely like more interpretable, right? So you can always trace back where this answer is actually comes from compared to the large pressure on the models. This one reason. And also in the future, if we want to update the document collection or update some document information, it's actually much easier to do that in this kind of retrieval-based models compared to the language models.
