Socrates's Parallel Between City and Soul
Glaucon's theory is that people don't really value justice because they think injustice is more advantageous. Socrates suggests we can learn about justice in the soul of an individual by studying justice in the city. If socrates can discover parallel features and structures in both the soul and the city, then his strategy will show itself to be a good one.
