We took these 26,000 ish images and put them into this massive online experiment with over 13,000 participants. And what we had people do is do a pretty simple memory test. They saw a stream of images and they had to press a key on their keyboard whenever they recognize the picture from earlier. What were the common features of things that people tended to remember? In general, people tended to better remember things that were more animate so related to animals or body parts. Also things that were a little more emotional like maybe weapons,.
