Oscar-winning film festival South by Southwest is open to everyone from around the world. You'll see European films doing very well in festivals in America such as Sundance or any other. It's harder to listen without subtitles but you should probably do it better for your English in the long run. If you if you just use subtitles all the time it's not going to prepare you that much for real real life because when you talk to people in the real world they don't have subtitles. So really depends on your level of English.
