The ancient Greeks prized brains over Brawn. They thought a proper hero needed Metis or Wisdom and cunning in order to be a true hero. Cokulus agreed to have no one attend to the king but his own staff, who drew him a nice hot bath for the evening. And then poisoned it,. leaving King Cokulus with the reward and Daedalus safe and sound at home.
