Xi Jinping's Communist Party has made access to China much more difficult than before. The saving grace is that increasingly we have data and social media data, Chinese government itself puts lots of things online. For example, I'm one of the three core principal investigators on a large scale project on full safety in China. We are writing papers about how different bureaucracies function based on data.
