The Four Rivers of Eden

In Genesis 2, 10 through 15, a river flowed out of Eden to water the garden. And there it divided and became four rivers. So if God isn't trying to tell me where the garden of Eden was, because I don't think He is, why does he bother telling me all this information about the water? What do you think? Go ahead.
