When someone has trauma, the vagus nerve is sort of like the alarm bell or like the sprinkler system in your brain where it shuts down. As a defense mechanism, the very nerve that controls that entire voice producing region just turns off like a light switch. So really, this is why I developed the second brain. When you have a rare illness and it's interesting because rare illness is something like less than one in a hundred thousand or something. But if you add up all the people that have any rare illness, it's like 20% of the population.
