The Secret Weapon of Irish Writers
For so many writers, it seems like they had this relationship with it where they live in Dublin, and then their heart is still there. Joyce famously said, you know, Dublin were destroyed, this could be rebuilt from Ulysses. And I think that's partly because there is such a kind of strong sense of place there. It's the thing that they can mobilize that writers in other places can't always do the same degree.
