Technopopulism in the Context of New Labour

David Frum says the term 'technocracy' doesn't mean that it's necessarily programmatically tied to the left or right. Macron has jumbled up the categories and he's sort of messed with people's heads trying to think about where he fits, writes Frum. There is this kind of results orientated aspect of technopopulism that I think fuses populism and technocracy, but is also curiously unrelated to some of the big revolutionary projects we associate with ideological politics. And one of the features of Emmanuel Macron’s techno-populist project is his desire to have a uniquely holistic political project not just connect any particular parts of society at all.
