The girls' vases were donated to the museum by the daughters in the late 19 teens. Curators found inside them a motley collection of ticket stubs and candy wrappers. The fact that we catch florrie leaning against it, treating priceless art simply as part of the landscape of the foyer lends itself to the mundane humanity of this scene.
