The Romans' Love Affair

Antinois is a young boy who Hadrian seems to have met. He was his Hadrian's great traveler around the empire. Antinois has the beauty of a eunuch, that is what makes him so precious. But he's not a eunuchs. And hadrian sends him back to Rome to be kind of educated. The question that is unknowable is how Antinois felt about it. I mean, I personally cannot imagine he would have been anything other than on one level very grateful for being raised up from a provincial backwater.
