AI Arms Race
There seems to be a framing or discussion in those terms recently that we're in the midst of an AI arms race. This is informing some of the public commentary around the wisdom of like slowing down or adopting a precautionary approach to the development of AI. So I don't personally love the term arms race for a couple reasons. And also the kind of race framing canotes a particular endpoint of definition of success which might not be obvious, given kind of the continuous nature of many of the things that we're seeing happen.
