I Will Resign the Office of President to Morrow

At noon on august eighth, president nixon's press secretary, ran zegler, came to the podium for what turned out to be his final briefing. It was a sereal moment for me, because i was watching the each on a black and white television in the basement of the white house press room. And at that moment when nixon said, i will resign the office of president to morrow, this enormous roar came up from lafayette square, it came across the front lawn of thewhite house. That's how loud this was.
