i completely agree about the profound limitations of the traditional labor movement. It strikes me that as an act mechanism for articulating left demands in a way that can reach a multi racial constituency, unions are probably more successful than either the democratic party or the university. So all three exist as institutional spaces, but it seems that one of them is especially under threat, and that's the union basin.
