From a usage standpoint, yes, it does replace the ingress API. The intention is to up level the expressiveness and the role orientedness of theIngress API. You would use this to do the same thing that you're using ingress to do today. There's three common ones, gateway class, gateway, an HTTP route. And having more smaller resource types is something that I've become a big fan of.
