The Inquisition and Torture

The Spanish Inquisition was renowned for its brutal methods of torture. They were prohibited from maiming or mutilating their victims. Instead, they had to come up with creative and painful ways of torturing people. One method involved tying the victim's hands behind their back in a 'stripado' This would then be attached to a kind of crane that lifted them into the air. The injuries caused by this type of torture could have been life-changing.
