The First Kamikaze Attack

I was quite surprised I hadn't realised that was the first kamikaze attack. The Japanese would have been better served had they kept the fleet in being throughout the war. They still could have fought a decisive battle for Luzon in 1945 and achieved much more than they did off Leyte. Against a smaller ship they could be deadly. But since they didn't have the power to penetrate armoured decks and they carried only a fairly small bomb, they could do it against American decks which were steel and wood.
