The Relationship Between Philosophy and Art

I want to ask a question, maybe I can make this more abstract about how you think about the relationship between art and philosophy. Is it understanding of the same kind but in a different mode or is it something quite different from the kind of understanding that philosophers aspire to? It's a great question, I really don't know the answer of course but one thing I feel fairly confident of is that like philosophy art is fantastically dis unified and diverse. Some artworks deliver kinds of understanding very close to the kinds of understanding some philosophy delivers so I don't feel there I wouldn't want to put them in completely different camps.
