The Importance of Adaptation in Journalism
I was interested in the Bake Off piece which I really enjoyed and how it seemed to straddle a line between reported narrative and almost kind of cultural essay or piece of criticism. I think that's that's one of the pleasures of of editing really and finding the right writer for the subject matter because you want to play to the strengths of the writer. In the early days of the long read was it something that journalists adapted easily to or what do you know did it take a while for just get used to writing longer form sort of US style rap or tajan journalism?
