Transhumanism and the Way International
The Way International was a Bible teaching organization that grew very exponentially in the 60s and 70s. It kind of grew into a personality cult although I cult is one of those words that has a very negative connotation even though it's kind of accurate in this case. The group got very centralized around the founder and the leader there was some financial shenanigans there was perhaps some sexual shenanigans etc and then it kind of fell apart when that leader died and there was a succession crisis of who would come next. We also had a couple other unusual teachings that were that we believed that the dead are dead is the way that we said it right when you dieyou don't go to heaven when you die your
