The Importance of Sleep in Blood Pressure Control

The American Heart Association published a scientific statement in 2018 on the effect of sleep on blood pressure and how important it is. We want to be aiming for at least 150 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity a week. Stopping smoking, not drinking to excess tends to raise blood pressure. A Mediterranean dietary pattern or a plant based diet can also help reduce blood pressure.
