The Importance of Knowing What a Merchant Is

A client I worked with for a long time last year, they sold credit card processing stuff and maintained it. But when we got down to it, they really didn't know what a merchant was. They had whole business processes using it in two or three different ways. It's not a fine and replace. English doesn't work like that.
