What Microphones Do I Really Need?
"I'm probably 10, 15 years into just buying my own gear," he says. "It's important to think like what kind of things am I going to record? What is the utility that I need?" He owns three or four hydrophones and a very expensive DPA hydrophone. His first microphones were actually from one of his teachers at USC.
