The Ethnographer

The self-help industry has taught us a skill, but it's also teaching us to be preoccupied with ourselves. I think as social animals, one of the things we've forgotten is we need to learn to help each other. The reason I started the optimism company was to help others learn the skills of helping others. And our ability to help somebody else find the thing that they're looking for actually gives us the thing we're looking for.
