The Story of Shapiro
In 1883, Mani Shapiro claimed that he held 17 parchment scrolls inscribed with an unknown version of the Book of Deuteronomy. The British press was wild; they didn't stop to write about it day and night in old newspapers. Claremont Ganau said this is forgery: "It's the most hutspedic fake in the history" He returned to his shop and to the simple silly souvenirs.
