The Importance of One Step Removed From Our Own Experience

I think we learn best at one step removed from our own experience. Increasingly, I see a tension between managerialism and true leadership. We have this void to me in our businesses that there's too much emphasis on the strategist and not enough emphasis on the leader. It's such a complicated question, isn't it? Because everyone's in favor of it in principle, but very few people act in support of it.
