The way those characters got written and how they evolved from, let's say, their initial introduction onto the screen felt as if the writers were exacting some form of revenge on these characters. I think it was less obvious with Thor where Jane wasn't necessarily a bad character in the way that she was written or anything like that but they just really dumbed down Thor.
