The Effect of Fear on Our Lives

In 1 Kings 18, Elijah takes on the 450 prophets of Baal and is victorious. Ahab the king told Jezebel everything Elijah had done and how he had killed all the prophets with the sword. So what is the effect that fear has on his life? Number one, fear distorts reality. Fear erodes faith. It's confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Faith is a way of seeing into the future - just as fear enables us to see past promises.
