Should We Open a Link in a New Window?

I've been talking and doing accessibility to talks since 99, basically. And I go to conferences and listen to other people talk about it. We're trying to move ahead and move along with the web but still people are making the same rookie mistakes all over. The only time what we've seen now is that if you're running a service like Gmail or Facebook or something, then they've been decided that people expect you to open a new window. That's what they all do. Twitter, Facebook, Gmail, all those ones do that. So I don't agree, it's just the casual inadoke,. It's just hard to learn skills. It's lazy as well.
