Psychoanalysis and the Poker Face
Psychoanalytic practices, mystical and spiritual practices have an element of inauthenticity that has to do with ideology. Analysts all too frequently think they know what things mean. It's one thing to form hypotheses about the patients dreams. Slips symptoms, transferences,. but to move beyond the hunch, the hypothesis, into tually concluding that this means this is no longer science in any sense. That's no longer mature. Psychoanalysis valid psychoanalysis.
