I feel like this intersects also with the concept of norm core. Oh a thousand percent and I feel like from the beginning it's been exemplified by like you know what Jerry Seinfeld wore yes on Seinfeld. One of the things I find most intriguing about all this is that when we started talking about kind of preppy fashion and the concept of preppiness it felt to me like that was a term that you don't hear anymore. If something is established enough as a symbol you don't need to say it.
