Socrates, the Myth of Athens
Is there a pessimism of strength, an intellectual predilection for what is hard and awful in existence? And again, that of which trage he died? The irony netha sees here is somewhat enigmatic. Socrates strikes down the myth of athens, but in doing so, creates his own myth. Or to speak more practically, science as a solution to the problem of life. This is quite separate from the question of the validity of science or its truth value compared to religious or revelatory truths. It's about moral asse ment of truth as the highest good.
