Aquinas on Human Self Knowledge

Aquinas' philosophy of mind is very different from contemporary approaches to cognition. He's less interested in how the mind hooks up with extental realities, and more about thinking on some kind of teleological completion for the human being. For him, the mental is a real part of the real world, and needs to be analyzed in terms of categories that we use for anything like fire heating water or tree growing to maturity.
