Word of faith has been very attractive to poor people and marginalized people in the global south in Africa. People give out of a promise to get wealthy, but they many do not get wealthy,. But they still give. And this has puzzled scholars right and theologians have really pulled their hair and their beards wondering like hey what's you know what's going on how can poor people give their hard earned money to a rich preacher? Anthropologists and sociologists have come up with an interesting explanation for why it is so popular. They say that by entering gift giving you're entering a deeper set of relationship and it turns you also from being a receiver to being a giver and that is empowering
