The diversity of life forms means that even as the individual organisms kind of come into being self-contained they then window themselves down into more efficient and interdependent forms. Michael Lee: One could imagine were there extraterrestrials or if humans spread beyond this planet that one might imagine earth itself becoming simpler as it involves itself in a more and more richly interconnected meta individual.
