How to Propose a Mystery for Consideration
The second point of preparation is how to propose a mystery for consideration. Some call it a kind of fabrication of the place, and others a kind of interior reading. For example, if you will be meditating on our Lord upon the cross, imagine yourself on Mount Calvary. Observe the same method when you meditate on death, or hell, or other such mysteries that are concerned with visible and sensible objects. By means of this kind of imagining, we can find our mind within the mystery on which we mean to meditate. The Second Part of Meditation Considerations involves framing one or more considerations so as to stir up our affections to God and heavenly things.
