The Neuroinflammation of Alzheimer's Disease
Trevoglini's work has already turned up interesting insights. The neurons most vulnerable to the disease are those that have made extra long connections across the cortex of the brain, where much of our cognitive ability arises. Trevoglini and his co-workers have also seen an increase in the number of cells such as microglia adding even more evidence that neuroinflammation is a major part of the process.
