Ran schelton wrote the script without an outline. He trusted his instincts and just took it one beat at a time. The first act takes about 25 pages to play out, all in the first five hours. There'se certain things that you have to have kind of in the right place. If i was teaching a screen writing class, i would teach three or four basic rules and then say, go break em.
