The Importance of Altruism
If you're in a small tribe of hominids, to make the tribes successful, you want to help other people in the tribe. I noticed this very strongly in academic departments. We are very strongly altruistic towards members of our group. And that's just from my evolutionary inheritance. But can we hope for something more? Maybe it'd be good if there were law professors in machine learning.
