How Local Authorities Have Been Dismantled?

In 1976, when our book begins, LEA's local educational authorities towered over the schooling landscape. Since then, rather like a Jenga tower, the pillar has been dismantled. And that requires a change in what schools for. That's a perfect place to draw that part of the conversation to an end. We'll move on in a moment to to chapter four, the way that schools are organised and the decline of local authorities.
