Social emotions develop because human beings living in the wild were really not valuable, but we became viable when we banded together. You have emotions like a awe, excitement, negative emotions like jealousy, shame and guilt. Whe they're all to help us work together. And so of course, those kinds of emotions are things that we tend to share and that happen in social situations. They're very important.
