When driving into the island from Orient Point, on the way in, it said, what did it say? First farm in New York. And we drove past it. What they mean is, this is the first farm you will encounter when traveling from East to West in the state of New York. To me, it's like when they say there's a... I've never been to St. Augustine, Florida, but anybody who lives in Florida learns that St. Augustine is the oldest city in the United States. But there was never any question about whether that means Native Americans don't count.
