CHAPTER

The Consequences of the Swerve Theory

Democritus believed in a sort of cosmic determinism. He thought that if you found an atom somewhere in the universe right now, eventually that atom is going to run into another atom and combine with it. And then maybe those two atoms will run into a rock or something. So everything, including human action, to democritus, were just atoms colliding and moving around in space. The implications behind the swerve theory feel the philosophical debate that still exists to this day.
